Early Hours Pick Me Up: Richard Cheese Edition

I was introduced to Richard Cheese’s music through the remake of Dawn of the Dead that featured his Bossa Nova cover of Disturbed’s “Down With the Sickness” brilliantly. Apparently no one but director Zack Snyder liked the choice of song but he dug in his heels and after it was well recieved the others tried to claim they had been on board with the idea all along.

Richard Cheese has made a decent little career for himself out of doing Bossa Nova versions of standard hard rock/rap/pop songs. Here is a video of him performing a medley of “Baby Got Back” and “Personal Jesus” on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. It is worth watching just to see him crawl across the stage with the microphone stand draped like a cross over his shoulders during the latter song.
