‘Roll Roundup
Stephen of Drinking Liberally in New Milford is one of the many people in the country whose home is being foreclosed upon. Thankfully, his family found a house to rent in New Milford. The person they are renting from was actually about to go into foreclosure herself. We wish Stephen and his family the best of luck in getting settled in their new digs.
ROTUS discusses Alan Weisman’s The World Without Us at I’ll Never Forget the Day I Read a Book. The book discusses what would happen if humans were suddenly gone from the planet. Short answer: there will be a period of adjustment then the planet will go on just fine without us.
The Station Agent at Ice Station Tango was (like me) one of those Florida Democratic voters that didn’t vote since it wouldn’t count. He is also tired of hearing Clinton talk about the disenfranchised voters and states that the primary wasn’t really a primary.
Alicia of Last Left Turn Before Hooterville ran to be an Obama delegate. She was ultimately not successful but found it to be an interesting learning experience. It is also an interesting read.
Mike the Mad Biologist discusses GINA (The Genetic Nondiscrimination Act) and the relationship the legislation has with the Human Microbiome Project.
Monkeyfister includes an incredibly disturbing Photoshop project that has Dick Cheney posing like Miley Cyrus in Vanity Fair. For those who claim the original image that included a 15 year old girl was “artistic” and “beautiful”- I doubt you’ll be able to maintain that argument with the Cheney picture.
Archcrone discusses why employer provided health insurance isn’t the best system at The Crone Speaks.
If you still want to donate to help the victims of the cyclone in Myanmar (yes, they aren’t getting the supplies now but they might be at some point), the Ex-Lion Tamer can direct you to the right organizations.
The Field Negro debunks “10 Myths About Black People”. It would be nice if the traditional media could grasp this one:
8. BLACK PEOPLE ALWAYS VOTE FOR THE BLACK CANDIDATE NO MATTER WHAT-Myth! Black people will vote for the black candidate if he is a democratic candidate. Just ask Michael Steele, and Alan Keys if they think black people always vote for the black candidate. A white democrat will beat a black republican in a black neighborhood every time. It’s not about race, it’s about party.
Cangrejero of The Midpoint introduced me to a site that I now have to email to most of my friends.
Are you familiar with The Bleacher Report? It’s an open-source sports community where people can write articles about their favorite sports.

Do not view the Cheney photoshop immediately after eating. Yes, this is the voice of experience.

That image of Cheney is burned into my brain now.
