West Virginia Primary Post
No offense intended to the states that have yet to have their primaries, but everyone is just going through the motions at this point. Obama has the nomination. But since the primary season is still in motion, we’ll still cover it. But each state is only getting one (continuously updated) post.
For now, the polls:
Clinton 60%, Obama 24% (Suffolk, May 11)
Clinton 66%, Obama 23% (ARG, May 9)
Clinton 56%, Obama 27% (Rasmussen, May 5)
Not surprising. Obama is supposed to do poorly in West Virginia. The common held estimate is a 30% showing. It would be nice if he could do better than that but, like I said above, it doesn’t really matter at this point.
Update 1: The networks have called it for Hillary Clinton but there aren’t any numbers out yet so I’ll be back later with the details.
Update 2: Numbers! With 25% of precincts reporting, CNN has Clinton winning 63%-30%. Keep in mind that W.V. only has 28 pledged delegates (and 11 superdelegates). A bit win here really isn’t going to help much with delegate counts, even if it were still mathematically possible for her to win that race.
